A Few Examples ...
Smooth Top
These have a seamless transition between the highly polished metal and the glossy surface of the rest of the emblem.
Raised Outer edge
The outside rim can be slightly taller than the center which allows it to stand out from the rest of the emblem; it can have a curved or a shaper edge. The possibilities are endless.
Raised Lettering
The lettering and logo is raised up from the background, making the design " pop".

How do I get started?
Figure out what design elements would work best with your ideas. Then give us a call or email and we will put together a free proposal for you.
How are they made?
We use hand carving of wax or fabricate in metal and only use computer work for the tooling when necessary, we produce them by investment casting which allows for more three dimensional design possibilities.
Starting with the design, we will talk to you to see how you want your emblem to look. From this, we create artwork for your emblem.
We will offer suggestions in order to make your emblem look it's best and the design can be tweaked if necesssary.
Once you approve the artwork, the tooling and production is started: This involves handcarving or milling to create a master. A vulcanized rubber mold is made of the master, allowing for the production of multiple waxes. Waxes are investment cast, polished, epoxy enameling, and a chrome plating if requested completes the final piece.
What are they made of? The emblems are all metal. We can attach brass screws to ensure a tight fit: white brass, copper, tarnish resistant sterling silver, gold plated, even 14 karat gold
These metals each have a slightly different look; the silver appears a little softer than the chrome and will tarnish. The chrome is almost maintenance free, while the tarnish resistant sterling silver needs to be polished from time to time. Gold will hold its luster without hardly any maintenance.
Here's the process
1) Many times, the art we start with is a business card or some simple line art.
2) A 3 dimensional emblem is built.
3) A rendering is done for your approval.
4) The model is created by hand carving, fabrication or milling
5) The model is cast to create the master, and a rubber mold is made
6) The wax to be cast by lost wax casting investment casting.
7) The cast piece is hand polished and ready for epoxy enamel.
8) The finished piece.
Things to think about for your Custom Emblem:

How do I figure out the design for my emblem?
- Your company logo, signature, or product is a good place to start.
- The vehicle name is another idea.
- Some placement locations that work well are front fenders, back fenders, trunk lid, grill, dash, horn button, wheel caps, or bullnose piece.
How do want it to look?
- Smooth, dimensional, colorful of plain?
- A Raised rim or one height?
- Three Dimensional or Sculptural?
- Curved or fitted with a recessed area?
What shape and size?
Think about where you will use it on your car.. An oval shape will blend with the curves of a car. It also allows for different placements for your special needs. Use the size that will allow for multiple placement locations as well. We can make different sized emblems as well.
Do you want to use black, or a color with the silver or gold emblem?
Custom Emblem Design Tips....
1) Names or logos work well for designs!
If you are not creating a bullnose for a hot rod, use any shape you like, but simple shapes work best. They don ’t detract from the car. A simple oval works well for placement on various locations on the vehicle. Start with drawing it larger than actual size but remember some detail will be lost as the emblem is shrunk to size.
2) Shrink your design down to actual size... Try 2” to 3” in length, 1/2” to 1 1/2” wide, or larger. Use the size of the factory emblems as a guide. Make sure it still looks right to you in the smaller size... that the lines and details are not too small and the proportions still look right. (You can reduce your design to actual size with a copy machine.)
3) See how your design looks on your car... Cut your actual size design out and tape it on your car, putting the tape on the back of the paper,so you are not covering the design on the front. Now step back from the car, so you can see what it will look like from a distance. Make any adjustments to necessary and repeat the steps until you are happy with
the results ... then send us your artwork!
